Shirley Chisholm

Shirley Chisholm:
. One of very few women to run for president
. First black person to run for president
. Believed in Equality of race
. Created the National Political Congress of Black Women
. Showed people that no matter what your race or gender you can make our dream come true

Quotes:
.Of my two "handicaps" being female put more obstacles in my path than being black.
.My God, what do we want? What does any human being want? Take away an accident of pigmentation of a thin layer of our outer skin and there is no difference between me and anyone else. All we want is for that trivial difference to make no difference.

.My greatest political asset, which professional politicians fear, is my mouth, out of which come all kinds of things one shouldn't always discuss for reasons of political expediency.

Think-Tac-Toe

Multi-Media

My pictures

Town or Place Equivalent to Novel theme

Iraq, in the middle east near Iran and Pakistan, is a country with no individualism. It's population is 29,267,000.
Gordon high population 500 or so.

This country is ruled by a dictator so citizens don't have that many rights, especially women. Women have to follow many rules such as, not being allowed to drive cars and they have to cover most of there bodies. They all follow one leader and no one stands up against the government, Just like students of Gordon High.

Famous people who experienced the theme of the novel
Massetti: Survived the German invasion of italy, and witnessed the death of his family.
Lao Su: He went against Confuses
Hillary Clinton: First female almost pres.

Is it worth trading equality for freedom?

My personal opinion is that freedom is worth much more, unless it doesn't include the freedom \

to make mistakes. Yet our natural instinct is to follow a leader. For example lions, the king of the

jungle have a king. Even humans, in the mammalian family follow leaders like George W. Bush,

or are forced to, like a dictator. Even if we don't want to our we want to people follow leaders.

Having a leaders doesn't necessarily means you don't have freedom. The United States of

America is a country built on freedom, liberty and justice for all; and that capitalism country has

a leader : The President of The United States of America. North Korea is a country sickened by

war, dictatorship and government controlled and even that, Communism country, has a

leader,Kim II-sung. This also depends on your definition of freedom.

Mr. terronez's Question

Questions:
Do you think that students are misunderstood by parents and teachers? why or why not?

-I think the question,"Do you think that students are misunderstood by parents and teachers?

why or why not?", Depends on the student and teachers/ students. Depends on the situation at

home. If you don't spend time with your kids or ever have a family time, your kids might not feel

open. For example me and my mother are really close because she spends a lot of time with me,

which makes me think I can trust her. Another example is a kid that doesn't spend time with

there parents. To him his parents are nothing more than parents.

Other times are when parents think that kids opinions don't matter, because there young ans

unwise, or a kid thinks his parents don't understand is a nother example

Memory box

This is my memory box made from 50 sticks. I know its really " un-usual" but its still usable

Drip Drop Drip Drop

It was a cold night. I could fell the feeling of cold air whooshing past me. The sky was gray as if the earth was sad. I could feel that something bad was going to happen. It happened. A couple of kids were playing hiding-go-seek so I decided to play. I remember walking on that windy cold day. Hardly any sunlight coming out of the gloomy feature-less sky. The ground was wet from the sprinklers, which left tracks to the old box cart. The box cart was old, decayed and smelt like skunk. I spent at least 3 minutes staring at the old ugly thing wondering if its a good hiding spot. Yet again who would want to. Eventually I decided to hide there. I chose to hide under the thing. Now looking back I don't think that was such a hot idea. I remember there being ants and spiders. I stayed in that cold dark area only a foot tall.

I got startled when a trickling feeling was on my leg. Shivers went down my body. I felt that I was gonna die. But surprisingly I stayed calm thinking that If I didn't go crazy it wouldn't attack me. When I didn't fell it on my leg anymore I quickly went outside wondering if anyone would ever thing me. I eventually gave up. But ran into a pole, kinda like that scene from scary movie 4. I didn't really care or noticed until I felt my face and saw blood drip from my face, drip drop drip drop. I Thought It was only a small cut but in reality it was serious. I didn't feel the pain because I didn't know how to act I didn't know how it looked. It wasn't until my friends looked at me with a fake Hollywood looking gasp. I thought there They rushed me to the hospital. There were a lot of sick people. A lot of them looked at me as if I had a big sign that said “hey look at me” I hated it so much, but lucky I was escorted to the ER. The smell of old, sick, and hand sanitizer was over whelming. I was extremely nervous and was about to go crazy. The clock that went,” Tick Tock Tick Tock” made me have to use the bathroom, but I it didn't make that much of a difference. Then The doctor came. It felt like slow-motion so I was like hurry up now.= But the worst part was when the doctor said I needed stitches. He got a needle as long as a 12 inch ruler. He slowly injected the needle into my lip! It felt like someone was putting a hot needle in my lip and that hot needle was on fire. But this needle was to make my lip numb so the even worse needle wouldn't hurt. They put me on a bed which was very hard and stiff and this lady nurse person handed the doctor a needle that was curved like captain hooks claw. I was awake when they did this and it felt like someone pulled my lip to the back of my head. It was extremely to the bone. One could describe it as painful as dying. It was painful. After that and thats all I remember. And that when I woke up I had stitches. Life with stitches was hard. It looked really ugly so I couldn't stand looking at me. As days pasted the wound healed slowly and the stitches were rendering useless, and eventually I had them removed, but I don't remember taking them out.
